I also noticed this with my S10 in my 22 CX5. It seems that to use Android Auto it needs to take the audio connection from bluetooth to play over usb which removes it from bluetooth settings. Unplugging does not transfer audio back to bluetooth and must be set again in the menu.

Not a problem on cold winter mornings when you're gonna warm the car up, but a really pain when you need to get in the car and get nav right away. Even their built in maps suffer that same issue though. YT Music works in my wife's 2020 Mazda CX-9, has since we got it back in March.
