When1980 rolled around, Cadillac decided it was finally time for the De Ville to get some updates. A full exterior revision was in order, and Cadillac offered the De Ville in both a 2-door 2-seater coupe and a 4-door sedan. Also available was a d'Elegance upgrade package that had chrome moldings and an optional hinged roof.
