It's the small battery , basically the same type of battery that you would have in a wrist watch , that holds the memory of the camera settings , including the date and Repairing A1 Main Dial. This is one of those pictures that saves, if not 1,000 words, at least a lot! I used this camera extensively for nearly 10 years from 2004 and it still works well, except for being slow to respond to the shutter button. I have often thought about fixing it.
