Many mechs would say the gearbox oil is "for life" so need not be changed but there are many recomendations to change varying between 100k and 150k miles - One word of warning - remove the gearbox oil filler plug first, its a bit of a bind to empty the oil out then find you can't undo the filler plug!!

Gears stay in. No problem when stationary. Gears slide in and out easily. Possibly worse when cold, but still there even when warmed up good and proper after a 25 minute drive (having been through all the gears). Clutch has a good bit of meat on it. 1/3 to mid level bite point. All gears also feel a little 'baggy'.

My 2011 mk3 focus has started leaking a small amount of oil from the gearbox, it's only done 17k. I have had a look underneath the car it looks like its coming from the seal where the
look on the gearbox and you will see 2 hex type nutsone on top for filling and one on the bottom for draining..before removeing the drain plug make sure the filler plug will undo too.drop the oil replace drain plug and fill with new oil till it just starts to weep out the filler hole then replace filler plugcant remember which oil they use now but you should find most places do oil
